OPGW typical series of stranded stainless steel tube structure (double layers)

Single or Multiple loose tube type

The fibers are placed loosely in a sealed and water-resistant stainless steel tube which is filled with water blocking gel. One or two, or three (max. at present) stainless steel optical tubes are stranded in the inner layer of a multiple-layer strandard cable. The stranded layer could be single, double or three layers. The stranded wire could be Aluminum-clad Steel wire (AS) with Aluminum Alloy wires(AA), or AS only.

Applications

  • OPGW is suitable for installation on new power lines with double function of ground wire and communication, especially for installation on normal voltage and extra high voltage power lines.
  • OPGW is mainly used in 500KV, 220KV and 110KV lines, limited by power cut, security and other elements, mostly used in new lines.
